The Magnificat Athletic Department announced its End Of Year Awards at the Honors Assembly on May 22nd.

Below are a list of the awards:

OHSAA Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award

As part of an ongoing program to promote Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity, the Ohio High School Athletic Association recognizes student athletes who display exemplary sportsmanship. The award is named for Archie Griffin.  Mr. Griffin is an Ohio native, the only two-time recipient of the Heisman Trophy for football, and a professional athlete who always displayed exemplary sportsmanship.

OHSAA Scholar Athlete Award

Ohio High School Athletic Association honors the top student-athlete in each school.   This award is presented to the graduating seniors with the highest GPA who has earned at least two varsity letters.

Magnificat Sportsmanship Award-

Madelyn Brindza                   2017-03-25 Strongsville-8 

The Magnificat Sportsmanship Award is presented to the athlete who sees beyond herself in all that she gives to her team.  She demonstrates a Christian attitude both in competition and elsewhere.  She behaves with fairness, generosity, and integrity at all times.  To qualify for this award she must participate in one Varsity sport.

Magnificat Athlete Of The Year Award –

Taryn Zwissler              512770404174L-032

The Magnificat Athlete of the Year is presented to the over-all best athlete in the school who demonstrates outstanding athletic ability, sportsmanship, leadership, and a good attitude.  To qualify for this award she must participate in one Varsity sport.
