Concussion Baseline Testing for Contact Sport Athletes

All contact sport athletes at Magnificat High School for the 2017-2018 school year will be required to complete 2 different concussion baseline tests.  These tests can be used in the event you have a head injury to help medical professionals make safe return to play decisions for you. One is on an iPad, the other is on a computer.

The iPad test, C3, must be completed at Magnificat High School on MONDAY, July 17.  This test is for all incoming 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade athletes in contact sports. Specific sport test times located below.

Soccer:   1:00pm

Volleyball:   1:30pm

Field Hockey:   2:00pm

Basketball/Gymnastics:   2:30pm

Lacrosse/Softball:  3:00pm

Location:  Magnificat High School Main Gym

***C3 baseline test is good for 2 years therefore, any Magnificat athlete who completed this test last year (offered on July 28, 2016 at Magnificat High School) does not need to complete the C3  test again this year*.

The other test, ImPACT, may be completed at home.  This test is good for 2 years, therefore only 9th and 11th graders need a new baseline test. However, any 10th or 12th grade athletes that did not participate in a contact sport last year at MHS or who had a concussion last season will also need a new baseline. Details of who exactly needs to do an ImPACT baseline test and how to complete the test at home will be sent out through sport coaches and Final Forms emails for each season.  Fall Sport athletes required to complete a new ImPACT baseline test must do so before July 28th, 2017.
