Girls Varsity Swimming · Swimming Finishes In 14th Place At State Meet; Best Finish Since 2005

Magnificat Swimming completed the two day State Meet @ CT Branin Natatorium in Canton with a team score of 55 points – landing them in 14th Place.  The 55 points marks the first time that the team has posted points in the State Meet since 2009 (21 points) and the most since their team score in 2005 (98 points).

Leading the way on Day #2 for the Blue Streaks was the 200 Medley Relay (Alana Cartwright ’17, Grace Monroe ’18, Kathryn Presley ’18, Taryn Zwissler ’17) with a 6th place finish and a time of 146.55 (New School Record).  Zwissler also placed 7th in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.88 which matches the school record she had set the previous day.

Cartwright added to the point total for Magnificat with a 12th place finish in the 100 Breastroke with a time of 105.55, and the day concluded with the 400 Freestyle Relay (Alana Cartwright ’17, Grace Monroe ’18, Julia Pophal ’16, Taryn Zwissler ’17) swimming a 333.53 which put them in 11th place.
