Girls Varsity Swimming · Magnificat Swimming Finishes 12th In State With 68 Points

Magnificat scored 68 points at the OHSAA Division I State Swim Meet this weekend @ CT Branin Natatorium in Canton to finish in 12th place.  It was the most points the team has scored and the highest place that the team has finished since 2003.

Championship Saturday started off with the 200 Medley Relay team finishing in 5th place with a 1:45.48 – a new Blue Streak school record!  Grace Monroe ’18, Kathryn Presley ’18, Taryn Zwissler ’17 & Alana Cartwright ’17 made up the relay team.

Cartwright came back in the 100 Butterfly with a swim of 56.88 to finish in 12th place.

In the 100 Backstroke, Zwissler came through with a 55.92 to grab 3rd place on the podium, and Cartwright followed right behind with a 103.77 in the 100 Breaststroke to capture 8th place.

The day ended for the Blue Streaks with the 400 Free Relay going 3:33.24 to end up in 13th place.  The relay team was made up of Monroe, Emilia Guilfoyle ’20, Zwissler & Cartwright.
