Magnificat Track & Field turned in a strong early-season showing Saturday at the Strongsville Elite Meet, finishing second in the seven-team field with 126 points in freezing cold conditions at Strongsville, Ohio. The Blue Streaks were led by a pair of winning relay performances, including a meet-record run in the 4x100.
The headline result came in the 4x100 relay, where the team of Bibbo, Laux, Loeffler and Karabatsos crossed first in 51.25 seconds. The performance not only delivered a victory, it also broke the meet record, giving Magnificat one of the day’s top moments despite the cold weather.
Magnificat also claimed first place in the 4x800 relay. Kuhlman, Liller, Vargo and Corrigan combined to win the event in 10:39, adding another significant boost to the Blue Streaks’ team total. The result underscored the group’s range, with Magnificat producing winning efforts in both a sprint relay and a distance relay.
Those relay finishes helped define the meet for the Blue Streaks, who pieced together 126 points to secure runner-up honors. In difficult temperatures, Magnificat still delivered one of the steadiest performances in the field, pairing points across the meet with two event wins and the record-setting sprint relay.
For a team still building through the opening stretch of the season, Saturday offered an encouraging snapshot. Magnificat left Strongsville with a second-place finish, a meet record in the 4x100, and another relay victory in the 4x800, a combination that set a clear standard for the meets ahead.
